Like most of us, I read the books and watched the movies throughout the years but few of us can claim to be bigger "Potterheads" than Katrina and Jonathan.  When we first met at a local coffee shop in Richmond, they told me about their plans for a Harry Potter themed wedding.  I was extremely excited as we started bouncing ideas back and forth and soon thereafter, we went to their Alma mater at UBC for their engagement session.  After stopping by Jericho beach to catch the sunset, we ended the night with some light painting in the darkness of their backyard.  Fast forward to the day of their wedding, Katrina looked stunning in her dress while Jonathan looked great in his suit.  The ceremony was at the beautiful St. Andrew's Wesley United Church where Joey, their adorable dog was able to join as part of the wedding party.  After group photos outside the church, we moved to the Sutton Place Hotel where the theme started to take place.  Guests were greeted with a Harry Potter inspired candy bar and were served up Butter Beer and other delicious appetizers.  The festivities started as guests shouted spells with wands in hand, only to be treated to an amazing slide show made by Jonathan's brother.  We ended the night with more games and dancing, but not before we snuck outside to capture some end of the night photos.  What a way to end off my year of weddings in 2017.  I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store!  Here are some of my favorites from the day.
